Sammy and I met through a mutual friend and fellow service provider, Skin by Nari—who, incidentally, is also who I send my brides and marriers to when they want their skin dialed in before the wedding. She’s the best of the best when it comes to skin in Colorado.
During our initial consultation, Sammy brought up one very valid concern: she was getting married in the Colorado mountains in the summer.
Which means the weather could be gorgeous and sunny. Or raining. Or windy. Or somehow all three within 20 minutes.
Sammy wanted to actually enjoy her wedding day without constantly wondering whether her hair was still behaving or if her makeup needed a touch-up. Once she learned that our Aeternum Experience includes on-site beauty concierge services, she was sold.
Soft Glam + Sleek Waves Built for a Colorado Mountain Wedding
Sammy had put a lot of care into getting her skin wedding-ready, so we kept her makeup fresh, glowing, and soft glam to let all of that gorgeous skin do its thing.
For hair, she wanted something sleek and mostly away from her face that complemented her gown—and wouldn't immediately become her worst enemy if the wind decided to show up.
Spoiler: the wind absolutely decided to show up.
I recommended extensions to give her style more fullness and drama in photos, but also for a less obvious reason: longevity. The additional hair gave us more structure to work with so her style could hold up throughout a long wedding day in the mountains.
And then my job shifted from getting-ready artist to beauty concierge.
Once everyone's initial hair and makeup services were finished, I became a very well-prepared ninja in the shadows—touching up Sammy's lip, brushing through her waves, powdering shine, and making adjustments as we moved from the first look, to their off-site ceremony, back to the Surf Hotel for photos, and eventually into the reception.
And let me tell you: Buena Vista was WINDY that day.
But that was my problem. Not Sammy's. (You wouldn't even know it was an issue looking at photos of her hair.)
She got to move through her wedding day knowing someone was paying attention to the little things so she didn't have to.
Sammy later raved about the peace of mind that came with having on-site beauty support throughout the day. And selfishly, it's one of my favorite parts of offering the Aeternum Experience. Instead of disappearing once the getting-ready portion of the day is over, I get to know my couples and their favorite people, see the day actually unfold, and make sure the hair and makeup we spent all morning creating still looks damn good while it does.
Because true luxury isn't having more things, or better products, it's from the peace of mind and confidence that you have in your wedding hair and makeup artist to handle everything so you don't have to.
